Featuring a liquid-cooled, DOHC motor that is decisively oversquare and revs out to produce over 100 horsepower, the 2016 Scout is Indian’s performance cruiser, rather than another retro recliner.
With its weight down to 558 pounds with the 3.3-gallon tank filled, the 2016 Indian Scout is a fast machine. Still easy to handle around town thanks to a 25.3-inch seat height, the Scout does have a fairly relaxed 29 degrees of rake, so it is not overly fussy about rider input. Cornering clearance is over 30 degrees, enabling the Scout to perform in canyons without dragging too often.
